August Playlist

Dry The River - Shaker Hymns

A local London band who are soon to make moves in the 'Nu-Folk' world, as proved by this intimate home recording.

Johnny Flynn -Barnacled Warship

One of the Marling/Mumford clan, Flynn's latest release is a definite step up from his previous efforts.

Bombay Bicycle Club - Ivy & Gold

Young and annoyingly talented, Bombay Bicycle Club are hardly a well-kept secret, but their latest effort Flaws fills in some of the gaps which were apparent in the much hyped 2009 release, I Had the Blues but I Shook them Loose.

Villagers - The Pact (I'll be your fever)

The Irish band were this years shock Mercury-award nominees, and Conor O'Brien's heartfelt record is definitely worth the praise.

Klaxons - Echoes

This song has been getting a LOT of airplay recently, but with the release of their second effort today I can only hope the rest of the album is on par with this fantastic single.

Fionn Regan - Violent Demeanor

Another Irish Mercury Nominee and one of the best singer/songwriters around.

Hey Marseilles - Rio

A seven-piece Folk act from Seatlle who are sure to make waves with this impressive debut single.

Death Cab for Cutie - A lack of Color

A look back to Ben Gibbard at his finest.

Anna Scouten - Blood Bank

Be prepared to fall in love with this Youtube marvel, a Canadian girl with a dodgy computer, impeccable music taste and and incredible voice.

Damien Rice - The Professor
(La Fille Danse)

I include this video of Damien at his finest only in eager anticipation of his third album, which (as per usual with the Irishman) seems to be taking an eternity to materialise.

The Tallest Man on Earth - Where do my Bluebird Fly

Bob Dylan in Swedish form.

Johnny Flynn - Lost and Found

Alright, I know that's two in one playlist...but it IS a great album.
